Tomato Chutney

Make delicious tomato chutney in just a few minutes.

This is my go-to tomato chutney. It keeps in the fridge for a few days.

Ingredients

  • 3-4 tomatoes, washed

  • 3 or more green chillies

  • garlic, coriander & ½ onion

  • 1 tbsp oil

  • ¼ tsp mustard seeds

  • 2 garlic cloves

  • 2 tbsp tomato paste

  • salt, to taste

  • pinch turmeric

  • juice of 1 lemon

Directions

  1. Blend the tomatoes with the skin on.

  2. Next, make a green chutney: blend the green chillies, garlic, coriander, and onion.

  3. Add the green chutney to the tomatoes and blend together.

  4. Heat the oil in a saucepan. Add the mustard seeds, the 2 garlic cloves and the tomato paste. Fry for 1-2 minutes.

  5. Add the blended tomato and green chutney paste. Let it cook and simmer down.

  6. Add the salt and turmeric.

  7. Finally, add the lemon juice and let it cool.

  8. Enjoy.
